The Object Pathing Interface visualizes object movement within a monitored area, providing detailed insights into paths taken by different types of objects. The interface allows users to toggle between pathing modes, view near-miss interactions, generate heatmaps, and filter specific object types such as vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. Below is a detailed explanation of every element in this interface.
Colour Representations
Red Lines: Represents the paths taken by vehicles such as cars, trucks, and other motorized transport.
Blue Lines: Represents the paths taken by bicycles in the monitored area.
Green Lines: Represents the paths taken by pedestrians, indicating walking or running movements.
These lines provide a clear visual of object trajectories and interactions, enabling users to identify high-traffic areas or potential safety concerns.
Download Button
Exports the visualized pathing data, including paths, near-miss events, and heatmaps, as an image or report.
Filter Data Button
Toggles the filter panel for selecting specific date and time ranges to analyse data.
When the Filter Data Button is clicked, a filter panel appears,
Calendar Icon: Opens a date and time picker where users can,
Select predefined ranges like Last Hour, Last 24 Hours, or Last 7 Days.
Choose a Custom Range by selecting start and end dates and times.
Apply Button
Applies the selected date and time range, updating the visualization to show data for that specific period.
Cancel Button
Cancels the filter operation and retains the previously applied range.
Clicking the Filter Data Button again closes the filter panel.
The interface includes toggle switches to enable or disable specific features and filters.
Pathing
Displays the movement paths of objects (vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians) as red, blue, or green lines.
Near Miss
Highlights close interactions or near-miss events between objects, such as vehicles and pedestrians.
Heatmap
Generates a heatmap overlay, highlighting areas with the highest traffic density.
Vehicles
Toggles the visibility of vehicle paths (red lines).
Bicycles
Toggles the visibility of bicycle paths (blue lines).
Pedestrians
Toggles the visibility of pedestrian paths (green lines).
Click the Download Button.
The system exports the current visualization (paths, near-miss events, or heatmap) as an image or report.
Save the file for further analysis or documentation.
Click the Filter Data Button to open the filter panel.
Click the Calendar Icon and choose a predefined or custom date and time range,
For predefined ranges, select options like Last Hour or Last 24 Hours.
For custom ranges:
Select the start and end dates from the calendar.
Set the time range using the dropdown menus for hours and minutes.
Click Apply to update the visualization with the selected range.
To exit the filter panel without applying changes, click Cancel or the Filter Data Button again.
The Object Pathing Interface is a robust tool for analysing object movements with features like:
Pathing visualization using colour coded lines for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
Download options for exporting visualized data.
Date and time filtering to refine analysis periods.
Toggle controls for pathing, near-miss detection, heatmaps, and object-specific paths. This flexible interface is ideal for monitoring traffic flow, safety analysis, and event detection.
